I suppose God is a good place to start with my blogs. In the book of Genesis the very first verse of chapter one says, “In the beginning God…” so we will begin our walk through the blogosphere by concentrating on the concept of God.
All my life I have heard of God. All the years of my life I have been told to trust God, have faith in God, praise God, pray to God, be thankful for all that God has done, is doing, and will do for me. After all, I was raised in the Bible Belt.
Just in case you are from another planet and don’t know where the Bible Belt is I will clue you in; the Bible Belt is the southeastern states of the United States of America. We have more churches than there are stars in the sky; well, not literally but it seems that way. Churches are everywhere. Christian churches of course, as it is assumed in the Bible Belt that if you are a religious person then you are of the Christian religion. If you aren’t then you will be put on someone’s prayer list, and the church folks will be praying for your soul, for you truly are worshiping some false god.
Of course, we cannot put God in any kind of box. For practical purposes I generally use the generic term God, which I realize is masculine, but I do know that spirits have no gender. However, the Bible refers to God the Father, Jesus Christ the son, and the Holy Spirit who is presumed to be male also. That’s good enough for me.
Meditation for today: Today I will remember that God is greater than everything else is. He can be trusted to help me in all situations.
Prayer for today: God, please give me the strength and courage I need today, and thank you for your guidance and protection.
