Inspiration

Day 11 – Inspiration is being mentally stimulated to do or feel something, or to do something creative. Inspiration needs to happen before motivation. After we get inspired and motivated then we can take action and create something. I can use this book as an example. First, I was inspired. Then I got motivated, then I began writing, and then the perseverance kicked in to allow me to complete the project.

The inspiration I want to talk about here is the stimulation that causes me to feel encouraged to face the day. Each morning I begin my day with prayer and meditation, which includes reading something inspirational.

I have several meditation books that I use for this time of reflection, and I will use one for a while and then change to another. This way it stays fresh for me, and I do not get bored with any of them.

I also get inspiration from friends and other people I meet along the way. I know that God uses people to get things done, and He has put many people in my life to teach me and inspire me. Some of them stay for years, some for months or weeks, and some just for a few days or a moment, and in due time they are gone. Either I taught them what I was supposed to, or they taught me what they was brought into my world to teach me, and sometimes it goes both ways.

Fortunately, libraries and bookstores are also filled with inspirational tomes for my pleasure and inspiration. I love bookstores and libraries. They are God’s gift to the person with a hunger for more light. Moreover, I am always in search of more light. Maybe that is why I became a freemason; we are all about obtaining more light. Light being knowledge, and knowledge being more light to find my way through the maze of this earthly existence.

Meditation for today: I am always in need of inspiration to keep me going in the right direction.

Prayer for today: God, I thank you for keeping me inspired.
