I am proud to defend the Christian faith. That is what I swore to do, under oath, when I took the vows of a Knight Templar. I joined the ranks of brave men that risked, and sometimes gave, their lives in service to God and mankind.
They were men of honor that believed in brotherhood, under the fatherhood of God. They were heroes and they are legendary.
But, in order to become a Knight Templar I had to take other vows and learn more lessons before I was granted the privilege of taking the oath of a Knight Templar.
First I had to go through a series of ceremonies and swear to oaths and make promises of secrecy, because no progress could be expected otherwise.
I began my journey when I took the oath of an Entered Apprentice, then Fellow Craft, and then a Master Mason.
Then I became a member of The York Rite, which allowed me to become a Mark Master and was duly sworn in as such, and then a Past Master, and then a Most Excellent Master, and then a Royal Arch Mason.
Then I became a Royal Master, Select Master, and Super Excellent Master.
Eventually I was admitted into the Order of the Red Cross, the Order of Malta, and finally I was granted the great privilege of becoming a Sir Knight in The Order of Knights Templar.
It was a special journey that cannot be described fully and sufficiently, but my brother Knights who have taken the journey understand completely.
So yes, I am proud to be a Knight Templar, and I will always defend the Christian Faith. That is my calling and my privilege.
Onward Christian Soldiers, I say “Onward.”
