Why I Ran for U.S. Congress in 2020

I ran for U. S. Congress in 2020 because I wanted to see if there was any way a poor man could actually be taken seriously in a very dirty game we call politics in our country. It was a decision that brought both challenges and rewards.

During my campaign, I embarked on a journey to connect with the people in my community, understanding their concerns, and exploring ways to address them through effective representation. It was a grassroots effort, fueled by passion and a genuine desire to make a difference.

Despite facing obstacles and limited resources, I refused to let them deter my determination. I tirelessly engaged in interviews on local TV and radio, participated in several podcasts, and even had newspaper articles written about my campaign. These opportunities allowed me to share my vision, beliefs, and plans for a better future with a broader audience.

While the political parties may not have taken me seriously, I remained committed to being an independent candidate. I firmly believed that I did not need their cooperation or permission to stand as a voice for the people. This stance resonated with many community members who had grown tired of political polarization and were seeking a fresh perspective.

Ultimately, my campaign secured its place in the pages of history. I may not have emerged victorious in the election, but I had the enormous pleasure of exercising my right to vote for myself on that pivotal day. This act symbolized the essence of democracy and the power of individual agency.

Looking back, I can confidently say that the journey was worth it, as it allowed me to contribute to the democratic process, share my ideas, and inspire others to pursue their dreams fearlessly. It highlighted the importance of individuals engaging in politics, regardless of their background or economic status. Together, we can create a political landscape that truly represents the diverse voices of our nation.
