In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was dark and empty, with water covering everything. God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. He separated the light from the darkness, calling the light “day” and the darkness “night.” This was the first day.
Next, God made a space to separate the waters, calling it “sky.” That was the second day.
Then, God gathered the waters and made dry land appear. He called the land “land” and the gathered waters “seas.” God saw that it was good.
On the third day, God made plants and trees, each with its own kind of seed.
On the fourth day, God created the sun, moon, and stars to shine on the earth and to mark days and years.
After that, God filled the waters with fish and the sky with birds on the fifth day.
On the sixth day, God made all the animals that live on land, including livestock and wild animals. Then, God created human beings in His own image, male and female. He blessed them and told them to rule over the animals and take care of the earth.
God gave every plant and tree as food for humans and animals. And God saw that everything He had created was very good.
This is how God created the heavens, the earth, and everything in them.
